Mission and Goals:
OUR MISSION: Provide services and support to the citizens of Smyth County to eliminate poverty, neglect and abuse; to strengthen families through community collaborations to achieve self-sufficiency.
The Smyth County Department of Social Services provides services ranging from protective services for children, aged and disabled adults to employment services. The Department is also responsible for the administration and operation of SNAP (Food Stamps), Medicaid, and Energy Assistance programs. Information and referral services are available to all citizens.
