Mission and Goals:
Mission: To support the sustainment and advancement of manufacturing in in Southwest Virginia.
Goal 1: Establishing and promoting regional collaboration in support of manufacturing and its careers as part of an economic development initiative.
Goal 2: To redefine the image of manufacturing with young people and their parents, their educators, the community and policymakers in a manner that increases the number of young adults and other member of the workforce who pursue manufacturing careers.
Goal 3: To close the skills gap for regional manufacturers by aligning educational and workforce training resources with the most pressing demands of area industry.
Services Provided:
SVAM can support HCCC by linking up job seekers with manufacturers who have open positions. We currently do not have financial assistance available to job seekers.

The Southwest Virginia Alliance for Manufacturing, Inc. recognizes Southwest Virginia, as defined by the Tobacco Commission, to include Bland, Bristol City, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Floyd, Galax City, Grayson, Lee, Norton City, Russell, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe Counties
Criteria for Individuals to Receive Services:
Manufacturers have to reside in the above listed counties in southwest Virginia. There are no criteria for job seekers except that they be looking for work in manufacturing.
